The Career Mentor Link program aims to prepare students for transitioning in the workplace, provide students with an industry perspective, help students build professional networks, broaden students' knowledge of career options to them.
Mentees are encouraged to seek advice and information about their career direction and employment goals whilst mentors share their industry skills and insights and take and active interest in the career development of the student.
This is not a work experience (internship) or paid employment opportunity.
How the program works
- Runs from May - October
- One-on-one mentoring with an industry professional from a similar field
- Event Launch at Optus Stadium
- Optional professional development events throughout the six month program
- Mentoring agreement with agreed goals and contact schedule
Time Commitments
- Attend Breakfast Launch (May)
- Maintain minimum monthly contact with your mentor
- Complete mid-year reflection survey
- Complete end-of-year reflection survey
- Attend end-of-year event
Eligibility
Undergraduate: Enrolled UWA undergraduates who have completed at least one year of study.Postgraduate: All enrolled UWA postgraduate and research students
All students must be on good standing and make a one-off $25.00 payment

Industry professionals with at least three years of experience in the workforceMajority are Perth based; some live overseas (USA, Canada, Singapore)
