Colleague Connect is designed to help you build a strong, supportive network across UWA through peer to peer connections.
Who can join?
Currently, this program is open to all staff within the Education and Student Experience Portfolio.
New staff
• Those wanting to better understand how the university operates
• Those wanting to meet other staff
• Those looking to connect beyond their immediate team
• Those wanting to broaden their network
Existing staff
• Those wanting to connect with other areas
• Those looking to broaden their network
• Those wanting to support newer staff
• Those wanting to experience a mentoring style connection in a low stakes format
How does the program run?
Once your profile has been approved, you’ll be matched with a colleague from a different team for a three-month connection.
• You’ll meet at a pace that suits you both (we suggest at least once per month)
• There are no mentor or mentee roles this is a peer connection, guided equally by both participants
How long does this program run for?
Each match runs for three months. If both of you find value in the connection, you’re welcome to continue meeting beyond the program.
How am I matched?
You’ll create a profile outlining your goals and interests. Matches are made based on your responses, pairing you with someone whose experience and goals align with what you’re looking for.

What is expected from me?
1. Meet with your matched colleague at least once per month (online or face-to-face)
2. Stay engaged across the full three month period
3. Complete a one month check in (online survey) and end of match review (online survey)
4. Optional: arrange shadowing opportunities with both managers approval
